Vikings vs. Bears

The blog has become my day-to-day gallery of sorts.

My brother and I went to the Vikings vs. Bears game yesterday in Minneapolis. I don't exactly know much about football or buying tickets or attending games (my attendance history before this game was one Vikings game with my dad when I was around 10) so I got tickets hoping they would be good seats. They turned out to be pretty darn good seats! We were really close to the field, eye level with the gridiron. We had a great time even though the Bears lost, haha, and I took some cool pictures.

My bro had a good time, which was the goal of the event for me :)

I took these images a couple weeks ago and with the flurry of activity surrounding the Christmas season, I haven't had a chance to get on and post them until now. It was very strange for Minnesota to still be 40 degrees and snowless in the middle of December.

Here are a couple of pictures of the few inches of snow we finally got last night:

The eyes are a window to the soul, or so the saying goes. I definitely believe that one of the most important aspects of portrait photography is capturing the eyes the way you want them in order to portray the mood of the photograph and personality of the subject.

In these images, I took this to a new level by focusing on the eye alone as my subject. It certainly helps to have subjects with captivating eyes. The first set is a natural look, and the second set is the same three eyes with a little creative touch applied. Enjoy some fantastic eye contact!

Those Darn Squirrels

We have albino squirrels that roam our neighborhood. Two of them made their first appearance a few years ago, and since we couldn't tell them apart we referred to them both by the same name. We lovingly dubbed them "Oswald". Over the last couple of years the Oswalds reproduced and their offspring have all inherited the name Oswald as well. So these photos are probably of three different squirrels, but they are all of a squirrel named Oswald.

There is something about these albino squirrels that is just creepy. They peer right into your soul.

They are constantly snooping around our bird feeders, so if you want to see/photograph them, just set out some food on the deck and wait a couple of minutes. We honestly see the albino ones more than normal gray squirrels these days.

No matter what we do to try and keep them out of the bird food...they cannot be deterred, hahaha!
